KP COUNSELLING

My name is Katherine and my counselling style is integrative, this means that I combine different psychotherapeutic approaches in order to adapt to client individual needs.

As each person and relationship is unique, I do not use a 'one-size-fits-all' approach, instead I tailor the way I work to the requirements and preferences of each individual.

My work is influenced by psychodynamic theory; person centred theory, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and the attachment theory.

Prior to running my own counselling & advocate service, I have supported clients in Windsor & Maidenhead Counselling Services one day a week, and also work as a volunteer counsellor with addictions in Hayes.

Providing support to people with a wide range of mental health issues has given me an understanding of the isolation felt by many experiencing mental health problems, and confirmed how important it is to talk about them.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, and all of my clinical work is governed by the BACP's Ethical Framework.
